20th Century Women (not Fox – as I thought at first glance), is the latest comedy/ drama starring Annette Bening, Elle Fanning and Alia Shawkat.

Written/directed by Mike Mills, the film looks at love and freedom as explored by three women in 1970s Southern California.

Annette Bening, the main, if not only reason I’d watch this movie, is an actor I’ve appreciated since American Beauty (1999). I’m  hoping that that love only grows after this film – especially since I’m not exactly in love with this trailer at present. Though, that may change tomorrow. There’s always a chance.

Additional cast includes Greta Gerwig, Billy Crudup and Laura Wiggins.

Based on the novel by Dennis Lehane; Zoe Saldana, Scott Eastwood, Elle Fanning and Chris Messina are just some of the talented cast.

Johnny Depp’s Public Enemies (2009) came to mind as I watched this trailer. Which will be the better movie, I wonder…

Nicolas Winding Refn, the celebrated director of Drive (2011) and Only God Forgives (2013) has a new movie.

Starring Elle Fanning, Alessandro Nivola, Christina Hendricks and Bella Heathcote; what we can expect is a thriller/horror film.

I haven’t watched Refn’s previous movie Only God Forgives (2013), but it’s clear that the man loves neon. This time round, neon is not just part of the cinematography /mise en scene, but it’s in the movie’s title too.

I’ll be watching because Drive was good, as is Fanning. I just need to get brave first. You know, for the horror.

Keanu Reeves, Jena Malone Desmond Harrington and Charles Baker also star.
