THE RHYTHM SECTION (2019): New Trailer From Blake Lively, Jude Law, Sterling K. Brown, Max Casella….

In new action/mystery The Rhythm Section, Blake Lively is a woman determined to seek revenge against the people behind a plane crash that killed her family.

Directed by Reed Morano; additional key cast includes Jude Law, Sterling K. Brown and Max Casella.

Both Peppermint (2018) and Taken (2008) came to mind as this trailer played. That’s precisely after the thought, ‘Is Blake Lively speaking in a British accent?‘ The answer is yes, and my fingers are crossed that the end result is as thrilling as this trailer suggests.

Daniel Mays, Richard Brake, Raza Jaffrey, Geoff Bell, Nasser Memarzia, Jade Anouka, Jack McEvoy, Tawfeek Barhom and Ivana Basic also star.

The Rhythm Section Release Dates: January 31st, 2020 (US); February 21st, 2020 (UK)…

Sterling K. Brown, Alexa Demie, Kelvin Harrison Jr and Lucas Hedges are the stars of new drama/romance, Waves.

Directed by Trey Edward Shults; Waves follows two young couples as they navigate the emotional minefield of love and growing up.

I’m interested in finding out just how intense this movie is. Especially considering the amount of emotion and dramatics in this trailer. I’m also already a fan of Brown and curious about Harrison Jr.

Lastly, for a moment there, I thought Harrison Jr. was Dudley O’Shaughnessy from Rihanna’s We Found Love Video; can anyone else see it? Of course you can.

Clifton Collins Jr., Taylor Russell, Avis-Marie Barnes, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Neal Huff, Krisha Fairchild, Sidnei Barboza and David Garelik also star.

Waves Release Dates: November 1st, 2019 (US)…

Kristen Bell, Evan Rachel Wood and Jonathan Groff are back for the Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee-directed sequel to Disney’s Frozen (2013).

This time, an adventure awaits Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Olaf as they go far in the forest to learn the truth about an ancient mystery of their kingdom.

I actually think I’d forgotten how much I appreciated the animation style of the first Frozen movie. The adventure and story will likely be engaging. However, it’s these visuals I’m most excited about.

Sterling K. Brown and Josh Gad also star.

Frozen 2 Release Dates: November 22nd, 2019 (US & UK)…

HOTEL ARTEMIS (2018): New Trailer from Jodie Foster, Sofia Boutella, Sterling K. Brown, Dave Bautista, Jeff Goldblum…

Written/directed by Drew Pearce; Hotel Artemis is a new crime/action movie set in a near-future riot-torn version of LA.

Starring Jodie Foster, Sofia Boutella, Dave Bautista, Jeff Goldblum and Sterling K. Brown, the story follows a nurse (Foster) who runs a secret members-only emergency room for criminals.

There’s quite a lot going on in this trailer. Yet, no major standout moments that have me super excited, even though the plot is unique.

I remain hopeful though because of Foster, Goldblum and seriously badass Boutella.

Charlie Day, Zachary Quinto, Jenny Slate and Fatimah Hassan also star.

Hotel Artemis Release Dates: July 20th, 2018 (UK);

SPLIT (2017): New Trailer From M. Night Shyamalan & Starring James McAvoy, Anya Taylor Joy…

Split (2017), James McAvoy
Split (2017), James McAvoy

Split, the new horror/thriller starring James McAvoy and Anya Taylor Joy is from writer/director M. Night Shyamalan, better known for the impressive The Sixth Sense (1999).

Usually, I’d be certain to stay away from scary movies, but in this one, McAvoy will be portraying at least 23 characters/personalities.

Word is out that Joy is quite the talent. So it may be time for me to experience one of her movies instead of only getting as far as the trailer because it looks too scary.

Someone recommended that I start with The Witch (2015), but they clearly don’t know me well enough. Currently, Morgan (2016) is as scary as I’m willing to go.

Split Release Dates: January 20th, 2017 (US & UK); January 26th, 2017 (GER); March 1st, 2017 (FR)…
