Chris Pratt, Sam Richardson, Betty Gilpin and Yvonne Strahovski are the stars of The Lego Movie (2014) director, Chris McKay’s new action/adventure/sci-fi, The Tomorrow War.

The promising trailer has Pratt as Dan, a family man tasked with annihilating a future threat to humanity’s very existence.

I’m in for the Pratt brand of charm and action. Also, Gilpin appears to be in the wife/mother role for this one. But I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I’m hoping she gets to kick some alien behind. Especially since she was so great in The Hunt (2020).

J.K. Simmons, Seychelle Gabriel, Alan Trong, Jasmine Mathews, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Keith Powers, Mike Mitchell, Chibuikem Uche and Felisha Terrell also star.

Hello, interesting movie premise!

I’m also in to see Pratt in an action movie role; the kind that seems to have strong Tom Cruise vibes. Perhaps it’s just the shot at 16 seconds into this trailer that has me making the Cruise connection.

Also, there’s Gilpin. I feel as though her character is going to be quite the badass. If you’ve seen The Hunt (2020), then you know that she’s great at that.

New drama / thriller Angel Of Mine stars Noomi Rapace, Luke Evans and Yvonne Strahovski. It’s a Kim Farrant directed story about Lizzie, a grieving mother.

Lizzie lost her daughter in a tragic accident and starts to lose her grip on reality when she begins to think that her daughter may still be alive.

I’m in for a great Rapace performance. I’m also wondering whether Lizzie’s time in psychiatric care was simply ineffective or, was there a mix up and the the little girl is actually her daughter. There is definitely such a thing as ‘a mother’s instinct.’ And… they really do look alike. You see it.

Somebody bring out the DNA test!

This is a very good teaser trailer but not for a second would I ever think that an 11 year-old actor would be the one to put me at ease in terms of the expected quality level of a new movie. But then, not every 11 year-old is a very talented Canadian called Jacob Tremblay.

I’m very much looking forward to this, in part because of the beautiful bass in Boyd Holbrook’s voice.

Yvonne Strahovski, Thomas Jane, Keegan-Michael Key and Lochlyn Munro also star.
