Read my spoiler-free movie review of A Quiet Place – Day One (2024).

A Quiet Place – Day One follows writer/director John Krasinski’s drama/horror/sci-fi hits, A Quiet Place (2018) and A Quiet Place Part 2 (2020).

Co-written by Krasinski and directed this time by Michael Sarnoski; we finally get to learn about what happened the day the world went quiet.

I love that I had absolutely no idea this was on the way, let alone that it would star an actor as magnetic as Nyong’o.

I may end up terrified, but I’m ready for the action, story, visual effects, and hopefully answers to questions many A Quiet Place fans have had since the first movie.

Also, it’s still only month two, but 2024 is looking good for the volume of movies I’m excited about this year. Will you be watching to see if Nyong’o’s character makes it through?

M. Night Shyamalan has a new thriller called Old, and it stars Rufus Sewell, Gael García Bernal, Alex Wolff and Thomasin McKenzie.

Getting older is scary enough. But for the process to be rushed by what looks like a decade within a day, that sounds super scary. I really hope this turns out great.

Embeth Davidtz, Eliza Scanlen, Abbey Lee, Alex Wolff, Ken Leung, Vicky Krieps, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Emun Elliott, Kathleen Chalfant, Matthew Shear, Alexa Swinton and Aaron Pierre also star.

A family starts to unravel following the death of their reclusive grandmother. Even after she’s gone, the matriarch still casts a dark shadow, especially over her loner teenage granddaughter, Charlie.

Written/directed by Ari Aster, Toni Collette stars as the mother who’s forced to explore a darker realm to escape the unfortunate fate her family have inherited. Other key cast includes Gabriel Byrne, Alex Wolff and Milly Shapiro.

A good-looking trailer that didn’t scare me too much; I happen to like that in a scary movie. Fingers crossed that sleep will still be my friend post-viewing.

Four teenagers are sucked into Jumanji‘s world, pitted against rhinos, black mambas and an endless variety of jungle traps and puzzles.

To return to planet Earth with their lives, they simply have to beat the game.

Directed by Jake Kasden, the stars of Jumanji – Welcome To The Jungle are Kevin Hart, Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black and Karen Gillan.

All I remember about Robin Williams’ Jumanji (1995) is that the characters sported khaki attire and ran away from stuff in the jungle. That’s it.

I’m glad that this trailer looks very promising. I’m most excited about the humour.

Nick Jonas, Missi Pyle and Rhys Darby also star.

Mark Wahlberg is Sgt. Tommy Saunders in director Peter Berg’s latest thriller, Patriots Day.

The story is based on the actions of Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis in the events leading up to the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. We also get to see the city-wide manhunt for those responsible.

Trailer 1
