New sci-fi/crime/thriller Mercy has Chris Pratt playing a detective whose fate is to be determined by the AI (Rebecca Ferguson) he championed, after he’s accused of murdering his wife.

Annabelle Wallis, Kenneth Choi and Noah Fearnley are among the key cast, while Timur Bekmambetov directs.

I want this to be great, of course. But I don’t yet have the feeling it will be.

Still, I remain curious and will no doubt be very happy and pleasantly surprised if the quality of this film exceeds that of Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg’s Minority Report (2002), which I need to rewatch forthwith.

I suspect that what may be most impressive is what the film shows us about the level to which the American public is under surveillance. Additionally, wouldn’t it be quite the twist if Pratt’s character is actually guilty?

Directed by Chris McKay; additional key cast includes Betty Gilpin, J.K. Simmons, Sam Richardson, Edwin Hodge and Yvonne Strahovski.

Hello, interesting movie premise!

I’m also in to see Pratt in an action movie role; the kind that seems to have strong Tom Cruise vibes. Perhaps it’s just the shot at 16 seconds into this trailer that has me making the Cruise connection.

Also, there’s Gilpin. I feel as though her character is going to be quite the badass. If you’ve seen The Hunt (2020), then you know that she’s great at that.

Read my spoiler-free movie review of Onward (2020).

From writer/director Dan Scanlon, Onward is a new Disney Pixar animated adventure starring Chris Pratt, Tom Holland, Octavia Spencer, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Set in a suburban fantasy world, Onward is about two teenage elf brothers who embark on a quest to discover if there is still magic out there.

The two moons at 01:33 into this trailer have me intrigued, as does the idea of usually majestic unicorns as ‘vermin.’

I can’t wait to see how this story about a world of imaginary creatures such as pixies, mermaids, gnomes, unicorns and pet dragons actually unfolds.

Ethan Hawke, Chris Pratt, Vincent D’Onofrio and Dane DeHaan are the stars of The Kid.

Directed by D’Onofrio, The Kid is a biography/western about a young boy forced to go on the run while trying to save his sister from his villainous uncle. On his journey, he finds himself increasingly entwined in the lives of Sheriff Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid.

I’m not overly familiar with the Sheriff Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid story, but I am aware that Billy is an outlaw, and I’m interested mainly because of Hawke and Pratt. My fingers are crossed for a pleasant surprise.

Leila George, Adam Baldwin, Jenny Gabrielle and Tait Fletcher also star.

Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and Jeff Goldblum are back in the J.A. Bayona-directed Jurassic World – Fallen Kingdom, the sequel to Jurassic World (2015).

What’s to be expected? New breeds that are more awe-inspiring and terrifying than ever before.

I don’t remember much about the earlier Jurassic Park movie but with this one, I’m completely in for the special effects, and hopefully a great story.

Rafe Spall, Toby Jones, James Cromwell and Geraldine Chaplin also star.
